Questions & Answers "OK" is not OK First posted: August 13, 2011
Question
A visitor sent an email asking about the spiritual significance behind a very tragic and disheartening accident in Oklahoma, United States that happened on 27 July 2011 around 10:40 pm local time. The accident involved an articulated lorry colliding with a horse-drawn carriage travelling in the middle of State Highway 31 near Quinton, OK. The horse carriage carried Paul Ogden, the driver, who was 38, his brother Lee Ogden (28), their little nieces Emma Ogden (4 years-old), Mackennen Ogden (5 years-old), and their nephew Colby Finch, from Dallas, Texas. Lee Ogden had just become a new father, and Colby Finch, who was visiting his relatives in Oklahoma, had just graduated high school and was about to turn 18 the day after the accident. All 4 Ogden's died on the scene upon impact, and Colby Finch died in hospital the next day, on his 18th birthday.
As would be expected, the lorry's driver, Marvin Bowen (age 38), survived the collision.
At the time of this writing, details of this terrible tragedy were available at the following tulsaworld.com links:

Answer
The tragic accident that this family was involved in definitely has strong prophetic significance. I must share, however, that, when the visitor sent the link to the news story, it took me a day or 2 before I finally clicked on it. For some reason, my heart was too fearful to read the sad details behind the story. My heart did not feel ready to bear the burden of the story's sadness at that time. When I finally clicked on the link and read the details of the story, the prophetic significance behind this tragic event became even clearer.
OK?The first thing that impacted my heart about the event was the fact that it was in Oklahoma. Some time ago, we received an email from a sister who lives in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, and, in it, she shared a dream she had had that involved explosions, war, and death. What immediately impacted my spirit when I read that dream was that Oklahoma, whose abbreviation is OK, stands for a spirit within the American Church that emphasises that everything is "OK" when it is actually EVERYTHING BUT OK. In other words, it is a spirit of denial that claims that the status quo within the Church is fundamentally sound and that all that it needs is a little "tweaking" here and there as it prepares for its magical departure in the "Rapture". This sense of things being fundamentally OK also extends to American society as a whole. Though the American Church (and "conservatives" in general) may complain about what "secular humanists" and "liberals" have done to America, they continue to believe within themselves that America is fundamentally sound and that all that the Church needs is to intensify its current operations (under its current modus operandi) in order to "take back America" unto Christ. It is this "OK" spirit which has prompted the American Church to reject any calls for a "fundamental revision of things", declaring such calls as "most definitely NOT from God, because we could not be as fundamentally flawed as such a revision would imply".
38 not specialThe second thing that immediately drew my attention was the strong presence of the number 38. Paul Ogden, the horse carriage's driver and the oldest of all the passengers, was 38, according to the initial story posted on tulsaworld.com; in their follow-up report, they indicated that his age was 37, but the fact that they emphasised the driver's age as 38 right from the beginning of the first report has prophetic significance (regardless of whether he was 38 or going on 38). "Oddly enough", the driver of the artic was also 38. All of this points out the connection between the number "38" and the spiritual cause behind this accident.
As we have shared before, the number "38" speaks of the generation of Israelites that perished in the desert without entering the Promised Land. Therefore, it speaks of people who became stuck at a certain level of spiritual growth and who were not interested in anything beyond that. It speaks of people who are happy with escaping from literal hell (i.e.- "Egypt") and who believe that there is very little to "salvation" beyond that. As long as they can claim that they are physically out of Egypt, they grade themselves as "approved", and all that they feel is left is to get more people out of Egypt to join them in the desert.
Horsing around in the pastThe other thing that continued to impact my heart as I meditated on the story was the fact that a horse carriage was involved in the accident. Some of the questions I wanted answers to were, "Why were these persons riding on a horse carriage? Were they Quakers? Why would a large lorry be on the same road as a horse carriage?". Even though the two news stories posted on tulsaworld.com do eventually provide the literal answers to these questions, I believe that the horse carriage per se carries a significance that lies beyond the surface. In a spiritual sense, the horse carriage speaks of people enamoured with the past, of people, like the Quakers, who are not willing to recognise that it is time to move on and that the paradigms and techniques that were successful in the past must be discarded and be replaced with paradigms that operate at a higher level. Because these techniques and paradigms were "successful" in the past, they believe that there is no reason to change them. Even as God begins to reveal how incomplete they really are, they continue to operate in them, and the failures that these techniques begin to produce are attributed to "one-offs", to very "unusual" circumstances that do not reflect the "fundamental soundness" of these techniques. Rather than realise that these failures are red flags from God indicating that a change is needed, they continue to label them as "attacks from the enemy". These "spiritual Quakers" fail to understand that the successes they experienced in the past were allowed by God because of their relative immaturity at the time. A 9-year-old child may be given high grades if he can successfully perform long multiplications, but a 17-year-old will not get the same high grades in maths if all he can do is multiply and divide. The bar is raised as we move forward, and those stuck in the past quickly go from "approved" to "rejected" by God, even if they continue to do the same things that made them "approved" years ago. "Coincidentally", the Lord had us talk about similar things in the "America Civil War (Part 4)" posting, where we talk about Nebraska and the Great Plains (of which Oklahoma is a part).
Obviously, had the horse carriage been running on a road 200 years ago, the tragic death of the 5 persons would have never happened. The calamity was spawned by several factors:
The combined presence of all 3 factors speaks of a certain "brazen boldness", a confident boldness similar to that of Uzzah, who believed that the glory of God could be manhandled through primitive and simplistic paradigms without the fear of any tragic consequences (2 Samuel 6:6-7).
Semi-transformationThe other thing that drew my attention about this news story was the "semi" itself. This led us to search the posting where the Lord had us talk about "semis" over 3-and-a-half years ago, and these are the paragraphs we found:
The connection between the vision's greyness and America's half-heartedness is emphasised by the appearance of the "semi-trailer truck" (i.e.- articulated lorry) in the vision, since the prefix "semi" means "half". As indicated on wikipedia.org, articulated lorries (or artics) are also known as "transfer trucks" in the U.S. and Canada; this speaks of how the American Church's spiritual transfer into God's Glory was frustrated by God because, just like Uzzah and David, the American Church wanted to carry out this transfer the wrong way (2 Samuel 6:3-8).
Artics are also known as "18-wheelers", which points to the number "18". As we have shared before, the number "18" speaks of the carnage decreed on America, a carnage that could have been averted had the American Church been fully submissive to God's will.
Artics are also known as "Big rigs" and "Diesels" in America. These names point to the "Big D" spirit of ministerial reverence that was instrumental in hindering God's revival in New York and America.
Artics are also known as "juggernauts" in the UK. According to wikipedia.org, the word "juggernaut" is derived from an Indian word meaning "lord of the universe", and is used to refer to anything so unstoppable that it crushes anything that gets in its path. This is how America's large ministries feel. They indoctrinate believers into trusting them unconditionally by equating loyalty to God with loyalty to them. This turns them into the "lords of the universe", spiritual behemoths who wield great power in the lives of many souls, enabling them to delay many of God's operations on Earth. Due to the millions of souls that surrender unconditionally to them, they feel like unstoppable juggernauts, and they do not hesitate to crush anyone who dares to question the wisdom of their route. As shown by sister Carol's vision, however, these juggernauts shall be stopped, for no man can defy God's righteousness and win, no matter how large his lorry may be.
As you can see, the above paragraphs mention the "Big D" spirit, which points to the person from Dallas, the last passenger to die in the tragedy. The paragraphs above also speak of "carnage", which clearly correlates with what happened in Quinton, OK. As you may also see, the paragraphs speak for themselves as to the spiritual message behind the "semi-trailer truck": It is better to seek no transformation at all than to avoid a total transformation and simply shoot for a semi-transformation, for such transformations end with you being "totalled" (i.e.- written off) anyway, only that in a bad and irremediable way.
4 + 1The fact that 4 people died at the scene and 1 person died the next day points to both the 4-year revival delay decreed upon America and what happened in the year that followed. As we have shared before, the Lord decreed a 4-year revival delay on America because of the American Church's inability to welcome His green-horse visitation. This delay began as a warning of a 2-year delay (on 11 May 2005). When that warning was not heeded, a 3-year delay was warned (on 27 October 2005). When that warning was again ignored, a 4-year delay was decreed and etched in stone (on 23 December 2005). The 4-year delay ended on 11 May 2009. However, as this delay period was ending, it became evident that the stagnant American Church was not responding to God's spiritual medicine. Less than a year later, on 4 April 2010, the Lord decreed that the present American generation had been deemed unworthy of His latter-rain visitation and had therefore been discarded. The 4 people who died "together" point to the 4-year delay that was eventually made permanent on 23 December 2005, and the other person points to the 328 days (close to a year) that followed, the period during which the current American generation eventually decided (through its actions and inactions) that God should not visit it. This is also why the 4 people who died "together" all had the surname "Ogden", whilst the other person who died separately had a different surname, "Finch". When he died in hospital the next day, it meant that no one from that horse carriage would survive the accident. All the passengers in the horse carriage represent this American generation, and the death in hospital of the carriage's surviving passenger symbolises the death of any lingering hope that this generation would somehow survive God's judgement against it and live to behold God's latter-rain visitation.
If you consider the full period from when the 4-year delay began (May 11, 2005) until the day the latter-rain dream for this generation died (April 4, 2010), you get a total of 1789 days. As some of you may be quick to note, 1789 was the year when the French Revolution started. The French Revolution speaks of a movement that began with a legitimate cry for freedom but which ended with meaningless carnage and a morphed form of the very tyranny it was running away from, all because it never worried to develop a proper foundation of righteousness.
The horses behind the carriageA closer look reveals that the 5 passengers in the carriage point to the first 5 seals of the Apocalypse:
From all of the above, we can conclude that the 4 Ogden's who perished at the scene of the accident point to the 4 horses of the Apocalypse (i.e.- the first 4 seals), and Colby Finch, the only one from outside of Oklahoma, points to the 5th seal of the Apocalypse. The fact that Colby Finch was from Dallas points out a sad spiritual fact. As we have shared before, the Dallas area is a stronghold of the spirit of Big "D" ministerial reverence that was instrumental in "D"elaying Gods visitation. This spirit acted as a permanent barrier blockading the Lord's entry into the American Church, and those who were sympathetic to the remnant spirit in America (i.e.- the ones who were supposed to act as spiritual bridges between the remnant and the Church) kept holding on to that spirit of ministerial reverence and were unwilling to let go of it. As this happened, the revival for this generation lingered in hospital for a short while until it was unable to hold on any longer and died.
The name "Colby" provides further confirmation as to why the American revival for this generation died. According to surnamedb.com, "Colby" is derived from the Old Norse words "koli" and "byr"; "koli" is itself derived from the word "kol" meaning "coal" and was therefore used to refer to people of swarty appearance; the word "byr", on the other hand, means "town, settlement". Therefore, the name "Colby" can be taken to mean "settlement of people of swarty, dark appearance", which speaks of a place filled with people influenced by the black horse. As we have shared before, America became stuck in the black-horse stage; it had entered into green-horse territory, but once it got to the edge of the River Jordan, it had a Shittim regression and went "back to black". This journey into the green-horse stage and back to black was done by the avant-garde believers within the American Church, i.e.- those who were sympathetic to the remnant spirit and who were supposed to act as the remnant's bridge into the American Church. Because these believers chose to form a collective "Colby" (a town of people with black-horse darkness), the revival died a tragic, calamitous death on 4 April 2010; 479 days later, the 5 people in the Oklahoma horse carriage died a tragic, calamitous death. It is sadly ironic that "479" points to Ezekiel 47:9, a word that speaks about the revival spreading life, not death. This is what America passed up on in exchange for death:
"And it shall come to pass, that every thing that liveth, which moveth, whithersoever the rivers shall come, shall live: and there shall be a very great multitude of fish, because these waters shall come thither: for they shall be healed; and every thing shall live whither the river cometh." (Ezekiel 47:9)
The soul from U.N.C.L.E.Even though all 5 persons in the horse carriage were closely related to each other, it is interesting (if not odd) that neither of them was a father of the other. Even Lee Ogden, who had just become a new father, did not have his newly born in the carriage at the time of the accident. The closest thing to a "father" in that carriage were "uncles" (Paul and Lee Ogden were uncles to the other 3 passengers in the carriage). There is spiritual significance behind this.
After 3 appearances in the Levitical laws and 1 appearance in the genealogies of Numbers, the first time that the word "uncle" explicitly appears in Scripture is in the following passage:
"14 And Saul's uncle said unto him and to his servant, Whither went ye? And he said, To seek the asses: and when we saw that they were no where, we came to Samuel. 15 And Saul's uncle said, Tell me, I pray thee, what Samuel said unto you. 16 And Saul said unto his uncle, He told us plainly that the asses were found. But of the matter of the kingdom, whereof Samuel spake, he told him not." (1 Samuel 10:14-16)
Notice that, when Saul returned from the encounter with Samuel that spawned his rise to kingship, the one described by the Holy Spirit as coming out to greet him was his uncle Ner, instead of his father Kish. Considering that Saul had gone on that journey because his father had sent him to find the lost asses (1 Samuel 9:1-3), one would expect his father, not his uncle, to have been the one to greet him back and inquire about his journey. Thus, the Holy Spirit is subtly emphasising the spiritual influence that "uncle Ner" had on the life of Saul. This disproportionate influence can also be discerned in the following passage:
"50 And the name of Saul's wife was Ahinoam, the daughter of Ahimaaz: and the name of the captain of his host was Abner, the son of Ner, Saul's uncle. 51 And Kish was the father of Saul; and Ner the father of Abner was the son of Abiel." (1 Samuel 14:50-51)
Notice how the Holy Spirit "goes out of His way" to name not only Saul's father but his uncle. Notice also how the name of the uncle, "Ner", is subtly mentioned even before the name of Saul's father. This happens near the end of verse 50 when the name "Abner" is mentioned; "Abner" is formed by a combination of the Hebrew words ab, which means "father", and the word/name ner. All of this betrays a subtle but real usurpation of Saul's fatherhood by his uncle Ner. If you asked Saul, "Who's your daddy?", Saul would (spiritually speaking) have a hard time answering the question. This spiritual usurpation is emphasised by God even more in the following verse:
"And Ner begat Kish, and Kish begat Saul, and Saul begat Jonathan, and Malchishua, and Abinadab, and Eshbaal." (1 Chronicles 8:33)
Notice how the name of Kish's father was Ner as well. Humanly speaking, it seems as if Ner, Saul's grandfather, named his firstborn after him, a practice that would be uncommon in ancient Hebrew culture (this is the only such case in Scripture that this writer is aware of). A significant time after "Ner Jr." was born, "Ner Sr." had another son, and he named him "Kish". When Kish grew up, he begat Saul, but it seems as if Ner Jr. was so much older than Kish that he acted as a stronger "father figure" in Saul's life than Kish himself, to the point that even Kish must have seen him as a "father figure", given that he shared the same name as his actual father. Ner Jr. apparently never made a life of his own, hovering instead "on top of" younger brother Kish and taking control over Kish's own sons.
The fact that the Holy Spirit goes so out of His way to emphasise the influence of "uncle Ner" over Saul's life illustrates the spiritual linkage between the "uncle spirit" and kingship that is based on man's desires rather than God's (as was the case with Saul's --- 1 Samuel 8). The sinister nature of this "uncle spirit" is also evident in another unrighteous uncle, "uncle Laban":
"13 And it came to pass, when Laban heard the tidings of Jacob his sister's son, that he ran to meet him, and embraced him, and kissed him, and brought him to his house. And he told Laban all these things. 14 And Laban said to him, Surely thou art my bone and my flesh. And he abode with him the space of a month. 15 And Laban said unto Jacob, Because thou art my brother, shouldest thou therefore serve me for nought? tell me, what shall thy wages be? 16 And Laban had two daughters: the name of the elder was Leah, and the name of the younger was Rachel. 17 Leah was tender eyed; but Rachel was beautiful and well favoured. 18 And Jacob loved Rachel; and said, I will serve thee seven years for Rachel thy younger daughter. 19 And Laban said, It is better that I give her to thee, than that I should give her to another man: abide with me. 20 And Jacob served seven years for Rachel; and they seemed unto him but a few days, for the love he had to her. 21 And Jacob said unto Laban, Give me my wife, for my days are fulfilled, that I may go in unto her. 22 And Laban gathered together all the men of the place, and made a feast. 23 And it came to pass in the evening, that he took Leah his daughter, and brought her to him; and he went in unto her." (Genesis 29:13-23)
Notice how verse 13 emphasises that Jacob was the son of Laban's sister, which means that Laban was Jacob's uncle. As we have shared before, Genesis 29 explains the matriarchal bondage that Jacob (and Israel as a nation) entered into, the very bondage that led to their literal bondage in Egypt years later. Notice, therefore, how "uncle Laban" was instrumental in the sealing of this matriarchal bondage. As you may know, the events described in the passage above are but the beginning of Laban's manipulative influence over Jacob's life. The manipulative nature of "uncle Laban" is evident even from years before, when he tried to manipulate his way into a position of influence over Abraham's and Isaac's life:
"29 And Rebekah had a brother, and his name was Laban: and Laban ran out unto the man, unto the well. 30 And it came to pass, when he saw the earring and bracelets upon his sister's hands, and when he heard the words of Rebekah his sister, saying, Thus spake the man unto me; that he came unto the man; and, behold, he stood by the camels at the well. 31 And he said, Come in, thou blessed of the LORD; wherefore standest thou without? for I have prepared the house, and room for the camels. 32 And the man came into the house: and he ungirded his camels, and gave straw and provender for the camels, and water to wash his feet, and the men's feet that were with him." (Genesis 24:29-32)
Notice how hypocritical and self-interested the "uncle spirit" in Laban is. It is the type of spirit that forges soul happiness and communion with others in order to extract a self-interested benefit from them. The "uncle spirit" always rides on hidden-agenda carriages pulled by alluring Trojan horses.
Another intimately-related quality of the "uncle spirit" is evident in the following passage:
"54 And they did eat and drink, he and the men that were with him, and tarried all night; and they rose up in the morning, and he said, Send me away unto my master. 55 And her brother and her mother said, Let the damsel abide with us a few days, at the least ten; after that she shall go. 56 And he said unto them, Hinder me not, seeing the LORD hath prospered my way; send me away that I may go to my master." (Genesis 24:54-56)
Notice how Laban and his mother were trying to delay Abraham's servant. This illustrates how the matriarchal nature of the "uncle spirit" works to delay the plans of the "male" Spirit of God, for it knows that, the faster those plans are carried out, the less time it will have to exercise its soulish dominion and extract temporal benefits from those overtaken by it. This explains why there had to be someone from Dallas, i.e.- "Big D(elay)", on the horse-drawn carriage that was involved in the tragedy of 27 July 2011.
Unlike Abraham's servant, the American Church allowed herself to be seduced and delayed by the "uncle spirit", leading to the eventual death of God's latter-rain revival for this generation. Thus, the American Church turned into a herd of souls from U.N.C.L.E., i.e.- the Unrighteous and Natural Church of Lazy Expectations.
All of the above explains the prophetic reason why "uncle" Paul Ogden was the one riding the carriage with 2 nieces and a nephew in the 27 July 2011 tragedy, along with younger brother Lee, who was an uncle to the other 3 in his own right and who also depicted the unhealthy father/brother relationship between "Ner Jr." and his younger brother Kish. As you can see, the 27 July 2011 tragedy is a very vivid prophetic portrayal of the spiritual issues that led to the massive tragedy that has befallen the American Church in the spirit realm.
Going over the edge despite being on the vergeIt is no coincidence that Colby Finch suffered the tragic accident one day short of his 18th birthday, dying on his birthday whilst in hospital. In most places around the world, 18 is the age when a young man legally reaches adulthood, as indicated on wikipedia.org. This means that Colby Finch died at the door of a wonderful new stage in his life. This "dying at the door" is also manifested in Lee Ogden, who had just become a new father when the accident happened, meaning that he died just as he was about to experience the joys of being the father of a "brand new human being". In the same way, this American generation died (spiritually) just as it was on the verge of a mighty breakthrough, a breakthrough with hues and dimensions never before seen in the history of mankind.
The fact that Paul Ogden was the principal of Quinton High School is no spiritual coincidence. Most students in America graduate high school on the year of their 18th birthday, as indicated on wikipedia.org. This means that Colby Finch had most likely graduated high school a few weeks earlier and was a few months away from attending university. However, as he allowed himself to be led by a high school principal on an unwise horse ride, he died a "high school graduate" and was never able to call himself a "university student". This is a prophetic figure of the black-hole nature of the "uncle spirit". As we describe in some of the "soul vs. spirit" videos, the matriarchal spirit is so adulterously possessive of those it desires that it is willing to suck them into a futureless dead end as long as they can possess them forever (1 Kings 13:11-31). As high school principal, Paul Ogden's world was "high school", and Colby Finch died a "high school student" on 27 July 2011 without ever being able to complete the transition into the "university world", meaning that Colby Finch died in Paul Ogden's world. This is a prophetic figure of how those who faithfully follow the "uncle spirit" end up. Let him who has ears hear what the Lord is saying.
Red and green violenceThe name of the driver of the artic that struck the horse carriage is Marvin Bowen. This name holds prophetic significance. According to behindthename.com, one of the possible derivations of the name "Marvin" is the Welsh name "Merfyn" that may mean "marrow famous". As we have shared before, Wales is the constituent country in the UK most directly related to the red horse of the Apocalypse. Hence, the name "Marvin" is subtly related to the "conflictive" and "divisive" red horse. According to babycenter.com, however, the name "Marvin" could also be derived from Germanic words meaning "friend of the sea". As we have studied before, the green horse of the Apocalypse is the one most directly related to the "sea" and "seafaring", meaning that "Marvin" also has a (strong) connection to the green horse of spiritual earthquakes.
According to surnamedb.com, the surname "Bowen" has two possible origins. First, it could be a Welsh surname meaning "son of Owain"; "Owain", in turn, could be either the Welsh form of "Eugene" (which means "well-born, noble"), or it could be a variation of the Welsh word eoghunn meaning "youth" (according to behindthename.com). A second possible origin of "Bowen" is the Irish name "O'Buadhachain" (meaning "descendant of the victorious one"). As we have shared before, N. Ireland is the constituent country in the UK most directly related to the green horse of the Apocalypse. Hence, the possible Welsh and Irish origins of "Bowen" reveal its spiritual connection to both the red and the green horses of the Apocalypse. Its connection to "youth" also reveals this "dichotomous" nature, given that it points to both the youthful nature of red-horse riders (i.e.- the spiritual Abels who confront their older brother Cain) and to God's "youthful" army of green-horse warriors.
From the above, we can safely say that both the forename "Marvin" and the surname "Bowen" lack a single clear origin and that both have 2 possible origins that reveal connections to both the red horse and the green horse. This coincidental "dichotomy" of both the driver's forename and his surname reveals his spiritual significance in the accident. As the American "black-horse carriage" calmly and proudly galloped in its "blackness" and in the slowness of its old paradigms, the Lord God sent against it the red wrath of utter obliteration hidden in the apparently peaceful and vulnerable green-horse riders who so readily allow themselves to be dragged into Death and Sheol. As we have studied before, the destructive "redness" of God's green-horse riders becomes increasingly evident the longer they wait in 5th-seal hibernation. This red-and-green wrath is especially harsh on the "BHS" believers whose mule-like stubbornness provokes an unnecessary delay in the remnant's exit from 5th-seal Sheol. Through His apparently dichotomous red-and-green wrath, the Lord exposes the deceitful dichotomy of the matriarchal Church.
{Fellow believer, the fact that the accident happened in Pittsburg County is no coincidence either. In Super Bowl 40, played in February 2006, the NFL's Pittsburgh Steelers represented God's righteous purposes, and their victory was a hopeful sign for the Britannia green-horse remnant, even as they were being forced to endure a 4-year delay. However, in Super Bowl 43 (played in February 2009), Pittsburgh's tainted victory became a dark omen to the green-horse remnant that America might have big trouble awakening from the 4-year coma it had been placed in. Ever since that season, the Pittsburgh Steelers have represented recalcitrant and deliberate black-horse stagnation, a stagnation emphasised by its prominently black uniforms. Black Pittsburgh's defeat by the Green Bay Packers in Super Bowl 45 is a positive sign in the spirit realm, but the Lord has made it more than clear to this writer (in multiple ways) that it is a positive sign for the next generation, not this one. This one is too "black" to rescue, and it is so proud of its "blackness" that it chose a black pseudo-president to lead it in its tragic, self-destructive implosion.}
Marvin GayeBesides pointing to the red and green horses, the forename Marvin also points to the tragic ending of the famous American singer Marvin Gaye. As indicated on wikipedia.org, Marvin Gaye grew up under the roof of Marvin Gaye Sr., a very legalistic and physically-abusive Adventist minister who was clearly "imbued" with the spirit of Cain. Marvin Gaye was eventually able to move out from under that oppressive covering in order to develop the prophetic music anointing inside of him. This means that, in a spiritual sense, Marvin Gaye was able to heed the red-horse shout, leave the covering of Cain, and go out into the lonely expanse of the black-horse wilderness. As we have studied before, God develops both your apostolic and prophetic anointings in the black-horse wilderness. In Marvin Gaye's case, however, only the prophetic anointing of creativity grew, and the apostolic anointing of wisdom and judgements remained stunted and malnourished. This caused Marvin Gaye's life to slowly spiral out of control, especially as the prophetic anointing became increasingly infected by the Canaanite spirit. In a desperate effort to escape the drug addiction and disorderly life he had descended into, he returned to his parents' home in L.A., California. He then began to have intense conflicts with his father, and he apparently began to "give back" to his father some of the physical violence that his father had inflicted on him as a child, all of which led to a sad incident where his father ended up shooting him with the very gun that he had earlier received from Marvin Jr. as a gift.
Marvin Gaye's life is thus an example of someone who successfully ventured out into the black-horse wilderness but who did not understand that there was a subsequent "green-horse" stage. As he wandered aimlessly in the black-horse desert (the way the rebellious Israelites did for 38 years), he eventually decided to return to the very roof of Cain that he had escaped from, leading to his premature death. Sadly enough, Marvin Gaye died one day short of his 45th birthday, which once again illustrates the "on-the-edge-without-going-over" sand trap that successful black-horse riders so often fall into, the same sand trap that caught Colby Finch, Lee Ogden, and the other passengers of the Quinton carriage.
Quinton TurpentinoThe fact that this horrible tragedy happened near Quinton, OK is no spiritual coincidence. As indicated on behindthename.com, the name "Quinton" can be interpreted in 2 different (dichotomous) ways. Interpreted one way, "Quinton" is an English surname that means "Queen's town". This points to the rule of the matriarchal "female" soul and to the spiritual devastation it can silently spawn when people are under its cloud, even as everyone perceives that everything is "normal" and "OK". Interpreted another way, "Quinton" is a variation of the name "Quentin", which, in turn, is derived from the Latin word "quintus" meaning "fifth". Thus, it is no coincidence that there were 5 passengers in the carriage; the proximity to Quinton emphasises the fact that this accident was a spiritual incident spanning the first 5 seals of the Apocalypse.
The connection to the number "5" also points to the American Church's stagnation at the "5" of "ministerial grace", without being able to transition into the "6" of weakness where you willingly expose yourself to green-horse death. Because the American Church was unable to transition from "5" to "6" in her heart, she was unfit to cross the River Jordan. Hence, when the horse carriage carrying 5 passengers ventured into the middle of the roadway in the darkness of night (and without any seat belts) in order to transition from one home to another, it was acting like those in the American Church who are trying to cross the River Jordan and forge the revival of God whilst remaining snugly comfortable at "5". This is like trying to swim across dangerous rapids, and it is tantamount to raising your fist at God and challenging Him to stop you; as you may imagine, such a challenge will always lead to tragic disaster, as Uzzah was quick to discover (1 Samuel 6), and as The Titanic discovered on 14 April 1912.
The tragedy that follows a defiance of God cannot be averted, even if you are not "intentionally" defying Him, especially if you call yourself by God's name. If the Lord warns you once and again not to touch a bare cable, but you ignore the warning because your soul is too stubbornly entrenched in its old paradigms, the electricity in the cable will kill you, regardless of whether or not you "meant to disrespect" its power. Regardless of your intentions, God will still consider your touching of that wire as an act of defiance. Why? Because the defiance actually took place the moment you arrogantly dismissed the warnings He was giving you through His weak vessels.
As I meditated on the word "Quinton", the word "turpentine" came into my heart and "just would not go away". As the Lord had me turn my attention to the word "turpentine", the reason for it surfacing in my heart became clear. According to wikipedia.org, the word "turpentine" is derived from the Greek word terebinthe, which is the name of a species of trees. Interestingly enough, the Hebrew word for the "terebinth" tree, elah, does appear in Scripture, and what is even more interesting is that the chapter with the most appearances of elah (4) is 2 Samuel 18. As we have already shared above, the number "18" is a number of carnage; hence, it is fitting that it describes the massacre of Absalom and all those who supported him.
"6 So the people went out into the field against Israel: and the battle was in the wood of Ephraim; 7 Where the people of Israel were slain before the servants of David, and there was there a great slaughter that day of twenty thousand men. 8 For the battle was there scattered over the face of all the country: and the wood devoured more people that day than the sword devoured. 9 And Absalom met the servants of David. And Absalom rode upon a mule, and the mule went under the thick boughs of a great oak, and his head caught hold of the oak, and he was taken up between the heaven and the earth; and the mule that was under him went away. 10 And a certain man saw it, and told Joab, and said, Behold, I saw Absalom hanged in an oak. 11 And Joab said unto the man that told him, And, behold, thou sawest him, and why didst thou not smite him there to the ground? and I would have given thee ten shekels of silver, and a girdle. 12 And the man said unto Joab, Though I should receive a thousand shekels of silver in mine hand, yet would I not put forth mine hand against the king's son: for in our hearing the king charged thee and Abishai and Ittai, saying, Beware that none touch the young man Absalom. 13 Otherwise I should have wrought falsehood against mine own life: for there is no matter hid from the king, and thou thyself wouldest have set thyself against me. 14 Then said Joab, I may not tarry thus with thee. And he took three darts in his hand, and thrust them through the heart of Absalom, while he was yet alive in the midst of the oak. 15 And ten young men that bare Joab's armour compassed about and smote Absalom, and slew him." (2 Samuel 18:6-15) [The word elah meaning "terebinth" is mistranslated as "oak" throughout this passage (in verses 9, 10, and 14)]
Notice how verse 9 declares that Absalom (the blasphemous traitor) was riding a mule as he was escaping from David's servants. Notice also that the Holy Spirit subtly emphasises that it was the mule (more than Absalom himself) which decided to go under the network of boughs of a great terebinth; this led to Absalom's head getting caught in the boughs, which left him exposed to being slain by David's servants. Had he been riding on a horse, he might have been able to manoeuvre his way out of the woods and save his life (at least for that day), since horses are faster and less stubborn than mules. We can therefore say that Absalom was yet another victim of a slower mode of transport that was inadequate for the surrounding circumstances.
Notice that, when Absalom got caught in the terebinth, the Holy Spirit describes him as getting caught between the heavens and the earth. This speaks of someone who is neither "fully earthly" nor "fully spiritual". This is typical of those who are stuck in the black-horse stage but who take so much pride in the spirituality that they have acquired in the black-horse wilderness that they consider themselves capable of crossing the River Jordan without having to operate in the green-horse anointing of dependent weakness. These believers are too spiritual to be considered earthly, but not elevated enough to be fully spiritual. Thus, when they go out to take the Promised Land on their mules, they end up like Absalom, dangling from a terebinth waiting to be executed for their spiritual "insolence". As a parenthesis, it is worth noting that mules are the result of crossing male donkeys with female horses, which emphasises the "caught-in-between" theme in this passage. All male mules are infertile, which points to the inability of black-horse believers to enable the massive reproduction of God's nature on Earth, despite the best of intentions.
Another thing worth noting in verse 9 is that the mule that was under Absalom "went away", leaving Absalom there. The phrase "went away" was translated from the Hebrew verb abar, which literally means "to pass over" and has the connotation of crossing from one realm to another. Therefore, the Holy Spirit is emphasising here that, whilst the mule was able to "cross on through to the other side", Absalom did not, for which reason he perished there. Such is the fate of those who think it is OK to cross the River Jordan when it actually isn't because they are convinced that their old paradigms are "OK" to complete the crossing.
Strolling instead of trainingAs indicated on britishbabynames.com, the name "Quentin" (from which "Quinton" is a variant) is historically related to "quintain", a medieval jousting training exercise. As indicated on wikipedia.org, in quintain, the person in training would attempt to strike an object with his lance, sword, or other weapon. Generally, a shield or a board on a pole was used, and, on occasions, a mannequin would be used as the target object. The exercise would generally be done whilst riding on a horse, though at times people would train on foot or on boats (which was popular in London during the 12th-century).
The name for the exercise, quintain, was derived from the Latin word quintana, which was the name given to a street between the 5th and 6th maniples of a camp where warlike exercises would take place. Therefore, we can conclude that the name "Quinton" can speak of a believer in "war mode" as he or she endeavours to make the transition from "5" to "6", which, as we have seen so far, corresponds to the transition from the black-horse to the fullness of the green-horse stage. Thus, "Quinton" in this sense does not speak of believers comfortably strolling through the black-horse desert, "running out the clock" as they wait for God to automatically take them into the Promised Land. The Joshua generation (the one that came after the unfaithful one that wandered aimlessly for 38 years) were not waiting for God to somehow cause all the enemies across the River Jordan to "drop dead" so that they could walk in and take over. They were in "war training", fighting Amorite kings (Numbers 21) as they prepared for the fateful crossing.
All of the above correlates and contrasts with the horse carriage in the tragic accident. According to tulsaworld.com, Paul Ogden would drive the horse wagon in parades and festivals, and he was training the horses for a chuck-wagon race in Arkansas. It is possible that, on the night of the tragedy, Paul Ogden was using the trip to train the horses for that race. However, the training he was engaging in was not "war training"; instead, it was training for entertainment events, for, in this day and age, chuck-wagon races and parades involving horses are more for "family entertainment" than for serious, intense competition. On that horrible night, Paul Ogden may have been training his horses for an entertainment event, but he was also taking the opportunity to enjoy a "horse stroll" under the (black-horse) starlit sky. It was an activity intended to pass the time and enjoy the scenery. Otherwise, they would not have taken two young little girls along for the ride (you do not take 4- and 5-year-old girls to "war exercises"). In the same way, the avant-garde believers in the American Church have been "passing the time", strolling aimlessly up and down the black-horse desert, without realising that there is a war up ahead to reconquer the Earth unto God. When they read the book of Joel and the army it describes, they only see catchy phrases fit for an entertaining song that can get people "wound up" and "excited" during "praise and worship" at church. They do not understand the true raison d'être for such an army. As long as they can get more people to repeat the "sinner's prayer", and, as long as they can keep them entertained in church until the Lord "comes" and "fixes the Earth", everything is "OK". The tragedy of 27 July 2011 in Quinton, OK is an alarm siren from God that is resounding in the spirit realm, an angry sign from the God of Israel announcing to all the spiritual carnage that results from pretending as if God is "OK" with such a thinking. |
