On Thursday August 12
and Friday, August 13,
2004, western Florida, USA was struck almost simultaneously by two storms, tropical
storm Bonnie and hurricane Charley. According to a Fox News Channel report, Ken
Reeves, the senior meteorologist at AccuWeather indicated that this
is the first time that two tropical storms have hit Florida at the same time since
October 17, 1906. Since tropical storms that strike Florida usually hit the
eastern half of the state, this double whammy on the western half surprised
everyone. According to various reports, 25 counties were declared disaster
areas, but the county that was hardest hit was Charlotte County, with the most
concentrated damage being an area of 31 mobile-home parks in Punta Gorda.
According to reports,
Hurricane Charley moved with a very narrow and concentrated front across the
western part of Florida, packing winds of up to 145 miles per hour. As it roared
through Punta Gorda, some houses were left intact or with very minor damages
while the neighboring houses were completely leveled.
Charley was initially
considered a category 2 storm, but suddenly turned into a category 4 storm right
before reaching land. Most forecasters expected Charley to hit Tampa Bay, but
Charley made an unexpected turn to the right and proceeded to attack the Punta
Gorda area.
After slicing through
Florida, Charley went out into the Atlantic Ocean, skipped the state of Georgia
to the north and proceeded to attack the states of South and North Carolina.
The NFL preseason game
between the Cincinnati Bengals and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers that was scheduled for
Saturday August 14, 2004, had to be postponed and was played on Monday August
16, 2004. The Cincinnati Bengals arrived at Orlando on Thursday night and
planned to wait out the hurricane there, thinking that Charley was going to hit Tampa
Bay and skip Orlando. By going to Orlando, however, they ended up closer to
Charley. The Bengals had to prolong their pre-game stay in Florida from 2 full days to 4
full days.
The Bengals lost to the Buccaneers 20-6.
According to a report
aired Monday evening (August 16, 2004) on Fox News Channel (narrated by Shepard Smith), a man in Punta
Gorda was being praised as a hero for having convinced many of his neighbors to
leave the area before Charley arrived. There was one neighbor who refused to
heed the man's warnings, and they had to retrieve his dead body from the rubbles
of his house on Monday.
Charley
is a pet form of the name "Charles", and is derived from the German
name "Karl", which means "man" or "male".
Notice that Charley attacked Charlotte county and the Carolinas.
Both "Charlotte" and "Carolina" are female versions of the
name "Charles". As we have shared in our articles, "man" in
Scripture is a figure of the "spirit", while "woman" is a
figure of the "soul". God wants a Church ruled by the Spirit,
but mankind has preferred a Church ruled by the soul. Pastors and other
full-time ministers throughout the Body of Christ have lorded over
their brethren, basing their "lordship" on the grounds that they are
more "spiritual" than the average believer, whom they see as nothing
more than a weakly and dependent soul that would die without their spiritual
support. These ministers call themselves "spirits" when in fact they
are acting like mere "souls"; in other words, they call themselves
"men" when they are nothing but "women"; they call
themselves "Charles", when they are really "Charlotte" and
"Carolina". They have the name of strong "men", but they are
really weak "women" in the eyes of God:
"9 The
shew of their countenance doth witness against them; and they declare their sin
as Sodom, they hide it not. Woe
unto their soul! for they
have rewarded evil unto themselves. 10 Say ye to the righteous, that
it shall be well with him: for they shall eat the fruit of their doings. 11 Woe
unto the wicked! it shall be ill with him: for the reward of his hands shall be
given him. 12 As for my people, children are their oppressors, and women
rule over them. O my
people, they which lead thee cause thee to err, and destroy the way of thy
paths. 13 The LORD standeth up to plead, and standeth to judge the
people. 14 The
LORD will enter into judgment with the ancients of his people,
and the princes thereof: for ye have eaten up the vineyard; the spoil of the
poor is in your houses. 15 What mean ye that ye beat my people to
pieces, and grind the faces of the poor? saith the Lord GOD of hosts."
(Isaiah 3:9-15)
This
is why God is coming in His wrath against these weak "women" who call
themselves strong, and He will show them a real strong "man".
Charley
was preceded by Bonnie, in the same way that the Lord Jesus was preceded by John
the Baptist (Matthew 3:1-3). John the Baptist came in weakness, and the Lord
Jesus came in strength. This is the reason why Bonnie has a "female"
name:
"Verily
I say unto you, Among them that are born of women
there hath not risen a greater than John the Baptist: notwithstanding he that is
least in the kingdom of heaven is greater than he" (Matthew 11:11)
The
name "Bonnie" is a name of Scottish origin that literally means "pretty", and is originally
derived from the French word bon meaning "good". Contrary to
popular belief, the word "good" in Scripture (towb in Hebrew
and agathos in Greek) is more associated with the concepts of
"righteousness" and "judgment" than it is with the concepts of
"kindness" and "compassion", as the following passages
(along with many others) illustrate:
"8 Good
and upright is the LORD:
therefore will he teach sinners in the way. 9 The meek will he guide
in judgment:
and the meek will he teach his way." (Psalm 25:8-9)
"Truly
God is good
to Israel, even to such as are of a clean
heart." (Psalm 73:1)
"Teach
me good judgment
and knowledge: for I have believed thy commandments"
(Psalm 119:66)
"Teach
me to do thy will; for thou art my God: thy
spirit is good; lead me
into the land of
uprightness" (Psalm
145:10)
The
name "Bonnie", therefore, refers to how the manifestation of God's
Powerful and Earth-shattering Presence will be preceded by a John the Baptist
spirit, an Elijah spirit, that will preach a message of "goodness",
i.e.- of justice and judgment. The fact that two storms had not hit Florida
simultaneously since October 17, 1906 illustrates two things. First, it points
to the fact that this is an unusual event that God intended not to
be explained away as a "random" act. Second, it points to the year
when the famous Azusa revival broke out in Los Angeles, California, USA.
According to chapter 3 of the book "Azusa Street" written by Frank
Bartleman in 1925, the Holy Spirit fell mightily upon that congregation on April
9, 1906, while they still congregated at a little house on Bonnie Brae
street (by the way, the last name "Brae" apparently means
"hill"). Nine days later, on April 18, 1906, judgment came against the wicked
city of San Francisco in the form of a devastating earthquake that killed over
10,000 people. Around those days, the congregation had moved from Bonnie Brae
street to 312 Azusa street, where the Pentecostal movement took momentum. Notice
how the initial breakthrough came at Bonnie Brae street but then became a
powerful movement that transformed the world when it moved to Azusa street, in
the same way that Bonnie served as an initial breakthrough, with Charley coming
behind her to shake things up mightily. Hurricane Charley is one of many mighty
prophetic signs that the Lord is making to tell His people that a glorious move
of His Spirit is about to hit the Church, but that move will come with terrible
judgments against all those, especially those in leadership position, who oppose
Him.
Why
did God send Bonnie and Charley against the western half of Florida?
Because the western side represents the left side of Florida in a map, if
you view the map with the north pointing up. As we have shared in various
articles, the left side speaks of "grace" and "life", and
refers to a Church that has molded the "gospel" so that it only
focuses on "grace", "blessings", and "prosperity",
forgetting that God is a God of justice and judgment, even in the New Testament!
God is coming as a Charley, as Spirit, against this left-handed
"gospel" that has been erected by men, and He will establish a prophetic
Church that will execute His Gospel of justice and judgments on Earth, thereby
breaking in the greatest revival of power and Glory that mankind has ever seen.
When man stops seeking after ephemeral blessings, the true eternal blessings
will come, but a foundation of justice and judgment must be established first.
God is the same yesterday, today, and forever, and He continues to be a God of
Consuming Fire, contrary to popular belief.
Why
were 25 counties hit so hard? Because 25 = 5 * 5. As we have shared
before, the number "5" refers to the "grace to minister",
whereas the number "6" is a number of "human weakness".
Ministers have tried to multiply their power and influence, instead of showing
themselves as vulnerable men before the rest of their brethren. Ministers try to
portray an image of spiritual superiority that silently teaches their brethren
that, to be used by God, being a "weak but yielded human being" is not
enough. The Lord Jesus performed His entire ministry wrapped in weakness (Hebrews
5:7-8), and the power and Glory of His works were derived from His
obedience to God, not from being some sort of entity "superior" to the
common man. This is why the Scriptures do not hesitate to show Jesus as a weak
man fighting to stay in the Father's will at the Garden of Gethsemane, instead
of trying to portray Him as some sort of "Superman" that was not
vulnerable to any kryptonite. God came against 25 counties to show the weakness
of those who constantly label themselves as strong, but are really weak, because
their strength is based on human credentials, i.e.- it is strength
of flesh.
Why
did God come against Punta Gorda in particular? The name "Punta
Gorda" is Spanish for "Fat Tip", and refers to the ministers who
have placed themselves at the tip of a religious hierarchy that they themselves
invented. They see themselves as the spiritual "crème de la crème",
as spiritual kings who have established their own little kingdoms on Earth
(i.e.- "their" congregations), where they have supreme authority and
where no one must dare to question their judgments. They are like kings who say,
"I made it to the top; now it is time to live the good life", and they
have gotten spiritually "fat" off of the people of God, by eating away
their spiritual callings and reducing them to mere ants that work to strengthen
and enlarge their little kingdoms:
"1 And
the word of the LORD came unto me, saying, 2 Son of man, prophesy
against the shepherds of Israel, prophesy, and say unto them, Thus saith the
Lord GOD unto the shepherds; Woe
be to the shepherds of Israel that do feed themselves!
should not the shepherds feed the flocks? 3 Ye
eat the fat, and ye clothe
you with the wool, ye kill them that are fed: but ye feed not the flock. 4 The
diseased have ye not strengthened, neither have ye healed that which was sick,
neither have ye bound up that which was broken, neither have ye brought again
that which was driven away, neither have ye sought that which was lost; but with
force and with cruelty have ye ruled them. 5 And they were scattered,
because there is no shepherd: and they became meat to all the beasts of the
field, when they were scattered. 6 My sheep wandered through all the
mountains, and upon every high hill: yea, my flock was scattered upon all the
face of the earth, and none did search or seek after them." (Ezekiel
34:1-6)
[As
we have said before, the words "shepherd" and "pastor" are
synonyms]
Why
did God come against mobile-homes in a retirement area? Because they
represent the earthly kingdoms that pastors work so hard to establish on Earth. They
think that their kingdoms are eternal, but God is about to show them how
temporal they are. They think that their kingdoms have been built on solid
foundations of truth,
But
the tempest shall come, says the Lord, and I will make evident who has
been edifying on the solid Rock of Truth and Judgment and who has been edifying
on the Sand of Pandering and Toleration of Willful Sin
Once
they establish a Church, pastors think they can set their ministries on
"cruise control", and just glide on into eternity. They think that
they can spiritual retire, live off of the spiritual callings of others, and
that a crown of glory is awaiting them at the end of their ministry to reward them for their
long years of service. Though they always apply the passage to others, Matthew 7:21-27 refers
to them. They are the workers of iniquity who are doing "good
works" and think that they are pleasing God, without realizing that their
works are an abomination to a God of justice and judgment Whom they do not know.
This is why the Lord says to them, "I never knew you; depart from Me, ye
that work iniquity" (v23).
Why
were there 31 mobile-home parks in Punta Gorda? Because "31" is
the number of kings that Joshua and the people of Israel had to fight against to
take the promised land, i.e.- their inheritance (Joshua 11:23, 12:1, 12:24). The
"fat ministers" at the top of their self-invented Church
hierarchy have been taking up the spiritual inheritance that belongs to the
people of God, and God is coming against them to remove them, so that His people
may take their spiritual inheritance in the air, allowing for the greatest
revival ever to be poured out over the Earth.
Why
did God send hurricane Charley with 145 mph winds? Because 145 = 29 * 5, and
the
number "29" refers to the voice of God that roars and makes the cedars
of Lebanon fall, as Psalm 29 shows:
"1
Give unto the LORD, O ye mighty, give unto the LORD glory and strength. 2 Give
unto the LORD the glory due unto his name; worship the LORD in the beauty of
holiness. 3 The voice
of the LORD is upon the
waters: the God of glory thundereth:
the LORD is upon many waters. 4 The voice of the LORD is powerful; the
voice of the LORD is full of majesty. 5 The voice
of the LORD breaketh the cedars;
yea, the LORD breaketh the
cedars of Lebanon. 6 He
maketh them also to skip like a calf; Lebanon and Sirion like a young unicorn. 7 The
voice of the LORD divideth the flames of fire. 8 The voice of the LORD
shaketh the wilderness; the LORD shaketh the wilderness of Kadesh. 9 The
voice of the LORD maketh the hinds to calve, and discovereth the forests: and in
his temple doth every one speak of his glory. 10 The LORD sitteth upon
the flood; yea, the LORD sitteth King for ever. 11 The
LORD will give strength unto his people;
the LORD will bless his people with peace." (Psalm 29)
As
Zechariah 11 points out, the tall "cedars of Lebanon" referred to in
Psalm 29 are the "pastors" in the Church, who have exalted themselves
over their brethren:
"1 Open
thy doors, O Lebanon, that the fire may devour thy cedars. 2 Howl, fir
tree; for the cedar is
fallen; because the
mighty are spoiled: howl, O
ye oaks of Bashan; for the forest of the vintage is come down. 3 There
is a voice of the howling of the shepherds; for their glory is spoiled:
a voice of the roaring of young lions; for the pride of Jordan is spoiled."
(Zechariah 11:1-3)
Therefore,
the fact that Charley's winds roared at 145 (=29*5) mph means that God is roaring ("29") in true
ministerial grace ("5") to give strength to His people, as Psalm 29:11
declares, so that believers throughout the Church may be all that God called
them to be, instead of being the weakly souls they have been taught to be by
cedars of Lebanon who have always wanted to be their lords and rulers. In Hebrew
and Greek, the word for spirit and wind are the same (ruach in Hebrew,
and pneuma in Greek). Charley's winds are a manifestation of God's strong
Spirit nature roaring against the weakly, "soulish" nature of carnal
men.
The
reason why God suddenly turned Charley from a category 2 to a category 4 storm
right before reaching land is to illustrate that Charley's strength cannot
be attributed to "random chance". Storms are supposed to weaken as
they reach land, not gain strength, but God "doubled" the power of
Charley just before it touched land to show that it was He who was guiding and
giving strength to the storm, not random chance or "mother nature", as
some are so bent on saying.
Why
did Charley have a narrow and concentrated front, and why did God allow for
certain houses to be left intact while the next-door houses would be devastated?
Because God is a God of selective judgment. Unlike man, God does not
destroy the good with the bad. He always pinpoints iniquity and destroys it.
The
fact that God sent the Cincinnati Bengals to Florida during Charley's
passage also has prophetic meaning. Cincinnati, in its early days, was a
pig-raising town; as we studied in a previous
article, pigs are a figure of Girgashite spirits of earthliness. The name
"Bengals" refers to the "young lions" that will be roaring
in Zechariah 11:3 (quoted above), i.e.- the pastors who have roared as
lion-kings over the Body of Christ for centuries, but who will now roar out of
lamentation. The name "Cincinnati
Bengals", therefore, refers to the pastors who have ruled the Church and
have tried to establish earthly kingdoms through earthly rules,
methods, and doctrines that are not of the Spirit. When the Cincinnati Bengals
tried to avoid Charley by going to Orlando, they acted as a prophetic figure of
those pastors who think that, by making a few "spiritual adjustments",
they can escape God's judgment, without having to make a true inner
transformation in repentance:
"7 But
when he saw many of the Pharisees and Sadducees come to his baptism, he said
unto them, O generation of vipers, who
hath warned you to flee from the wrath to come?
8 Bring forth therefore fruits meet for repentance: 9 And
think not to say within yourselves, We have Abraham to our father: for I say
unto you, that God is able
of these stones to raise up children unto Abraham.
10 And now also the axe is laid unto the root of the trees: therefore
every tree which bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the
fire. 11 I indeed baptize you with water unto repentance: but he
that cometh after me is mightier than I,
whose shoes I am not worthy to bear: he shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost,
and with fire: 12 Whose fan is in his hand, and he will throughly
purge his floor, and gather his wheat into the garner; but he will burn up the
chaff with unquenchable fire." (Matthew 3:7-12)
[In
verses 11 and 12, "Bonnie", i.e.- John the Baptist, warns of the
coming of "Charley", i.e.- the Lord Jesus Christ]
The
fact that Cincinnati lost 20-6 to the Buccaneers also has prophetic
significance. As we have said before, "6" is the number of "human
weakness", and the number "20" is the number of "young
warriors", since 20 was the age when the Israelites were old enough to
fight (Numbers 1:3). The name "Buccaneer" refers to a person who does
not abide by human rules, and is a spiritual reference to the "true
prophets of God", who are perceived by earthly pastors as "roguish
pirates who are out of line". These "roguish pirates", however, are young warriors
who will fight in the Spirit, as declared in Joel 2:1-17, and will show that
those who have exalted themselves over their brethren, and have roared over
them, are nothing but mortal men.
The
fact that Charley struck Florida exactly one week after the 36 dolphins stranded
themselves in a Florida beach adds to the spiritual significance of this
event. As you may remember from a previous
prophetic word, 36 dolphins stranded themselves in a Florida beach on August 6,
2004.
The
fact that, in the midst of this story, there was a man warning his neighbors to
leave the area before Charley struck (as reported by Fox News Channel) is a
prophetic figure of Noah, who by building the ark warned his neighbors of the
judgment to come. Those who listened were saved, and those who didn't perished,
just like the neighbor who refused to listen to this modern-day Noah and stayed
put, only to be killed and buried by his own house:
"37 But
as the days of Noe were, so shall also the coming of the Son of man be. 38 For
as in the days that were before the flood they were eating and drinking,
marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noe entered into the ark, 39 And
knew not until the flood came, and took them all away; so shall also the coming
of the Son of man be. 40 Then shall two be in the field; the one shall
be taken, and the other left. 41 Two women shall be grinding at the
mill; the one shall be taken, and the other left. 42 Watch therefore:
for ye know not what hour your Lord doth come" (Matthew 24:37-42)
Contrary
to popular belief, the reference to "the Lord's coming" in verse 42
above refers to more than Jesus' "literal coming". It really refers to the
manifestation of the Lord's Glory in His latter-day Church. He will come to
judge His Church and to set the House in order, and, to do so, He will have to
devastate a few "houses of men" first.
