Last Friday September 24, 2004, in the wee hours of the morning, the Lord woke me up to a vivid vision of an aircraft very similar to the Columbia space shuttle. The aircraft was black in its relatively flat bottom and white on top, and it was landing on a wide runway in what seemed to be a desert. As the aircraft was coming down, it suddenly began to spin clockwise. I became concerned, but, after many rotations, it was able to straighten itself out as it got close to the ground, and the vision ended as I saw the aircraft in perfect position for landing, with dusk showing on the horizon that was in the background. I then saw the word "PASADENA" written across the bottom, as if I were watching a wide-screen recording of the landing on TV; the word "PASADENA" was written in white on the black band that appears at the bottom of TV screens when wide-screen film is being shown.

That morning I pondered the meaning of the vision, but was unable to understand it until I was watching a Fox News Channel report 5 days later, on September 29, 2004. The report was on how SpaceShipOne, a privately-financed manned rocket, was able to soar out of the Earth's atmosphere to a height of 62 miles. SpaceShipOne, designed by Burt Rutan, was piloted by 62 year-old South African Mike Melvill, the first civilian astronaut.

The rocket took off from California's Mojave desert in the U.S. just after sunrise, at 7:11 local time, carried beneath the White Knight transporter plane. At 47,000 feet, the two separated, and SpaceShipOne ignited its rocket booster for its trip into space. On the way up, however, the rocket went into an unexpected roll near the top of its trajectory, spinning some 20 times. This made it necessary to shut off the motor 11 seconds before planned, and pilot Mike Melvill was able to straighten out the rocket using side-thrusters. Still, the momentum was enough to propel the rocket to the desired height of 62 miles; 2 radar readings verified that space had been reached. The rocket was able to come back to Earth and land successfully at 8:34 local time, completing its 83 minute trip.

According to a space.com report, Mike Melvill said the following after his June 21 flight:

"The sky was jet black above. The Earth is so beautiful ... It was like nothing I’ve ever seen before. You really do get the feeling that you’ve touched the face of God when you do something like this, believe me."

As SpaceShipOne arched over and headed back to Earth, Melvill said that he began to hear sounds: 

"The noises you hear are like somebody talking to you very sharply. You begin to believe, wow, should I really be doing this?"

When I saw the video of the rocket spinning on TV during its September 29 flight, the Lord immediately reminded me of the vision mentioned at the top of this page, and He made me understand that the vision was a prophetic notification of this event, meaning that the event had prophetic importance.

On September 25, 2004 (one day after the vision) the Lord led us to write the article entitled, "The peace process", where we share on how the Spirit will be uncovered from on high in the latter days. The Lord led us to speak about a "gaping hole" that will allow for direct impartations of eternity from God in Heaven into the Earth. Without realizing it, this was strongly related to the vision I had been shown a day earlier. When I saw SpaceShipOne spinning up into space on September 29, I realized that it was a prophetic figure of a remnant people drilling a hole through the mantle of darkness that covers the nations (Isaiah 25:7); this mantle has impeded the direct impartation of God's eternity into the Earth. This explains why Mike Melvill said that he felt that he had touched the face of God after his June 21 flight.

The fact that the flight was not sponsored by any government is a prophetic figure of a latter-day Church where believers will have a direct and intimate relationship with God, bypassing the pastoral hierarchy that has worked to stand as intermediaries between God and "regular church folks". Most believers think that they need the "ministerial covering" of some organization or church to be right with God, and that the key to sanctification is to unconditionally obey the orders of the ministers they have placed themselves under. In essence, this "ministerial covering" has acted as a mantle that has hindered the direct impartation of God's eternity upon believers. It is not wrong to be a member of a congregation. It is wrong, however, to think that the pastors and other full-time ministers are the only ones who have "important" spiritual work to do on Earth and that these men are in some way spiritually superior and are the only ones who can impart God's Glory on Earth.

The fact that the pilot's name is Michael points to the prophetic figure in Revelation 12:

In these latter days, a mighty prophetic remnant will fight against satan in the air and cast him down to the ground, paving the way for direct impartations of God's eternity from Heaven above. Because of our human frailty and our sins, satan has constantly worked to accuse and belittle believers who desire to be right with God but who have convinced themselves that they are too insignificant and imperfect to be used by God in a powerful way. God will cast down satan, and He will also cast down his angels (v9), i.e.- his messengers that promote a separation between God and man and who have made themselves lords over the Body of Christ. God will do this through a remnant that will be willing to give their lives in spiritual sacrifice unto God (v11), meaning that it will be done through a remnant of believers who will not fear being shunned and condemned for speaking God's justice and judgments and who will be willing to confront human authorities inside the Church, even if that means being ostracized and labeled as rebellious and unGodly:

The fact that pilot Mike Melvill says that he heard noises as if someone was "talking to him very sharply" on his first flight on June 21 refers to how the principalities and powers accuse believers whenever they start asserting their authority in the Spirit. Mike Melvill heard the accusations of the prince of the air, the "accuser of the brethren" (Revelation 12:10); this is why he asked himself, "Should I really be doing this?", as if to say, "Do I have the spiritual right to do this?". Here on Earth, those with the remnant spirit hear such accusations through fellow believers who question the remnant's authority based on human titles and who believe that it is more important to obey man and his human structures than to obey God:

The pilot's last name, "Melvill", comes from the French and means "bad settlement". As we have said before, the Girgashite spirit of earthliness is very strong in France, and the reference to a "bad settlement" is a judgment against earthly structures. Mike Melvill's ascent from Earth represents the prophetic remnant rejecting and leaving behind earthly ways and structures in order to have a direct encounter with God, then returning from that encounter back to Earth to minister judgments. When the Spirit is uncovered, He speaks judgments into the Earth. This is why the Lord says that the Comforter (i.e.- the Holy Spirit) would come to reprove the world of sin, righteousness, and judgment (v8). Notice also that verse 13 above says that the Spirit of truth speaks not of Himself, but will speak whatsoever He shall hear. So will the prophetic remnant do in the latter days. Under the anointing of the Spirit, they will speak unadulterated truth into the Earth and will not work to promote themselves, but rather will promote the Lord, speaking whatever they hear, no matter how popular or unpopular their words may make them, for they will "not love their lives unto death" (Revelation 12:11).

In another way, the name "Melvill" also speaks of how the remnant will proceed from places of "spiritual ill repute". When Philip told Nathanael that he had found the Messiah in a man from Nazareth, Nathanael asked, "Can anything good come out of Nazareth?"

Even though Nathanael knew that Nazareth was a "bad settlement", he was willing to go and see if Jesus really was the Messiah. Nathanael represents the remnant who is not interested in human names but who understands that the truth can only be discerned spiritually. Today's Nathanaels know that the truth cannot be determined from the ministerial title of the speaker or by the "international reputation" of his/her congregation. The truth is determined by the anointing, which can only be discerned in the Spirit, regardless of the human name that may be attributed to the speaker. When Nathanael discerned the Anointing on Jesus, he said, "You are the Son of God, the King of Israel" (v49), and he did not need a theology diploma in Jesus' right hand, or a literal crown over Jesus' head, or kingly robes over Jesus' body to confess this. This is the reason why the Lord said to Nathanael that he would see the heaven open and the angels of God ascending and descending upon the Son of man (v51). Notice that Jesus said "the Son of man" and not "Me"; He was therefore speaking of a direct angelic impartation of God's eternity and judgments over all believers, even in their weak human condition, because God is not a respecter of persons (James 2:1-7).

The reason why the Lord gave me the vision on September 24 is because of the following passages in Haggai chapter 2:

Notice that the passage above prophesies the tearing down of kingdoms and the bringing down of horses and their riders, just as Revelation 12:7-11, quoted above, speaks of Michael fighting against satan and his angels and casting them down to the Earth. Notice also that verse 22 speaks of the kingdoms being torn down by "the sword of his brother". This refers to a "rebellion" that the remnant believers will send forth against the spiritual structures inside the Church, just as Martin Luther did during the Protestant Reformation.

In the vision, the Lord showed me an aircraft similar to the Columbia space shuttle. The name "Columbia" refers to Columbus, who, as you know, was the pioneer who set sail from Europe and discovered America. In these latter days, God will send forth a brave prophetic remnant that will pave the way so that the Church as a whole may take the Spiritual Promised Land.

As you may remember, the Columbia space shuttle disintegrated upon reentry on February 1, 2003. It would take too much time to explain all the prophetic symbols that were behind the Columbia disaster, but allow us to summarize that Columbia represents the last effort of the Church to bring the latter-day glory through human methods, without destroying the carnal preeminence of the pastoral ministry, and without realizing the importance of the true prophetic spirit (if God wills it, we will write an article on this in the future). The fact that the Columbia that I saw in the vision was able to land safely speaks of the latter-day spiritual move that will succeed, as opposed to the efforts that man has made until now. Man wants to have his cake and eat it too; man wants a mighty spiritual move without losing his earthly control on the Church. In the latter days, however, God will raise a remnant that will forsake human structures and will surrender all control to God, allowing the judging Spirit of God to move through them to renew the spiritual atmosphere of the Earth.

The fact that the "Columbia" I saw was black on the bottom means that, from an earthly perspective (i.e.- from the "ground"), this aircraft looked "dark", which points to the "darkness of anonymity", and also points to the darkness of rebellion, since earthly believers judge the remnant as "rebellious" believers who dare to defy human structures and paradigms. The fact that the aircraft was white on the top part means that, from the Heavenly perspective, the "rebellious" and "anonymous" remnant is pure and righteous, and is exuding God's glorious presence:

I recall seeing a logo on the top part of the aircraft, meaning that, from a Heavenly perspective, the remnant does have a name, and that name is "sons and daughters of the Most High God".

The whiteness of the aircraft's top is also emphasized by the name of the plane that took SpaceShipOne up to 47,000 feet: The White Knight.

The fact that SpaceShipOne took off from the desert refers to the fact that the prophetic remnant is not afraid to go to the spiritual loneliness of the wilderness, where God's judgments process us and mold us into His likeness. It is out of the desert that God's salvation always comes!!! Moses came out of the desert to liberate the people of Israel from Egypt. Elijah came out of the desert to liberate the people of Israel from Baal. Jesus came out of the desert to liberate us from the law of sin and death. This is why SpaceShipOne came out of the desert.

The fact that the aircraft in the vision spun clockwise means that God's prophetic time is ticking again. Through a dream 3 years ago, the Lord showed me that God's "prophetic clock" stops when prophetic intercession stops on Earth and that it moves again when prophetic intercession starts again. The Church has for centuries been spiritually stuck, but prophetic intercession is making the clock move again. The latter-day glory is fast approaching, my friend, and you were given the privilege to be alive in the generation that will see this latter-day Glory manifested on Earth.

The reason why both SpaceShipOne and the aircraft in the vision landed in the desert is because God will establish His desert judgments down on Earth through a latter-day remnant that will ascend to have Face-to-Face encounters with Him in the wilderness. 

Both the aircraft in the vision and SpaceShipOne landed in California. However, SpaceShipOne landed in the Mojave desert while the aircraft in the vision landed in Pasadena. As I asked the Lord concerning this "discrepancy", the Lord kept reminding me of Pasadena's "Rose Bowl Parade". It was not until today that I understood the meaning of this:

God's latter-day Church will blossom abundantly; the desert of God's judgments will produce a blossoming garden. The latter-day churches will be like spiritual Edens full of God's Holy presence, places of spiritual refreshing, places where believers will be all that they were created to be.  

The fact that, in the vision, the Lord showed me the aircraft's landing as if it was recorded on wide-screen film used for movie theaters means that the latter-day Eden that is about to come will be "wide". It will expand throughout many regions of the Earth and it will include all believers. The spiritual castes will be "cast" away, and all believers will understand that they are unique, special, and that their individual spiritual calling is Mighty, Important, and Unique in Christ.

The fact that the second spaceflight that allowed SpaceShipOne to claim the US$10 million prize took place on October 4, 2004, 10 days after the vision on September 24, means that only those who are willing to die to self completely can be used to tear down the throne of satan in the air:

The fact that the flight on September 29 took 83 minutes points to Psalm 83:

The fact that SpaceShipOne's motor had to be shut down 11 seconds before planned (to stop the spinning on September 29) has prophetic significance. As we have said before, the number "11" in Scripture represents "purifying judgments that remove earthliness". The original human plan was to shut down the motor at a given time, but God forced them to shut it off earlier, showing that the latter-day remnant will recognize God's supremacy, and will learn to do things the way He wants them done, even if that contradicts our earthly mentality or earthly plans:

SpaceShipOne would not come back down to Earth successfully unless it did things God's way, not man's; in a prophetic sense, the space shuttle Columbia refused to do it God's way, while SpaceShipOne yielded to God, and was therefore successful. The latter-day remnant will understand that it is only through judgments ("11") that God's Glory will come. Notice that verse 11 above speaks of God's Word coming down to accomplish His purpose, and, according to Hebrews 4:12, God's Word comes as a sword that executes purifying judgments.

The fact that Mike Melvill was 62 and that the required height was "62 miles" points to Isaiah 62, which speaks of God's prophetic intercessors not resting until God's Glory be seen on Earth:

The fact that 2 radar readings testified that SpaceShipOne had reached space on September 24 points to the apostolic and prophetic anointing that "hole-drilling" believers will have. The Lord sent His disciples in groups of two to prepare the way for Him in the cities that He would visit (Luke 10:1). The apostolic anointing of wisdom and judgments and the prophetic anointing of visions and human-authority defiance lay the foundation for the establishment of God's Kingship (Ephesians 2:20). If a believer wants to be used as spiritual "hole-drillers", he or she must be willing to receive the apostolic and the prophetic anointing on his or her life; otherwise, the 2 radar readings in Heaven will not be able to testify that he or she is fit for spiritual "hole-drilling".

The spiritual reason why the Ansari X prize required that the rocket carry 1 pilot plus the equivalent weight of 2 other passengers is related to what was said in the paragraph above. An evangelistic, kingdom-establishment anointing is built on the foundation of the apostolic and the prophetic anointing. These 2 anointings operate in the realm of "anonymity", while the evangelistic anointing operates in "public view". This explains why the "2 passengers" could be present in equivalent weight, while the pilot had to be physically present.

The reason why the biggest sponsor of SpaceShipOne was Paul Allen can be understood when one learns the meaning of these two names. The name "Paul" means "small", which means that God will puncture the hole in the spiritual mantle through believers who are perceived as "small" by other believers who measure spiritual authority based on human titles. The name "Allen" is a variation of the name "Alan", whose meaning could either be "little rock" or "handsome". As we have said before, "rocks" in Scripture refer to "eternal spiritual nature", so "little rock" points to a believer who looks small on the outside, but who possesses God's eternal spirit nature on the inside. It is through this rock-solid eternal spirit nature that we can defy the thrones of principalities and powers in the air, because those thrones are based on foundations of temporality. This is the reason why the man that God raised to fund the opening of spaceflight to private citizens is named "Paul Allen". 

SpaceShipOne's departure time on September 24 was 7:11 local time. The number "7" in Scripture refers to "perfection" or "completion" while the number "11", as we said above, refers to "purifying judgments". This means that the latter-day remnant will be based on the foundation principle that the Church can only be perfected through God's purifying judgments.

The return time for SpaceShipOne on September 24 was 8:34 local time. As we have said before, the number "8" in Scripture refers to "regeneration"; the number "34" here refers to Ezekiel chapter 34, where God prophesies the tearing down of the pastoral matriarchy (as we have said many times before, the words "pastor" and "shepherd" are the same in Hebrew and in Greek):

The time "8:34" means that, as the remnant takes off to execute purifying judgments ("7:11"), it will be able to land in a regenerated Church where the pastoral matriarchy has been wiped away and replaced by a Church that feeds the spiritual authority of believers instead of draining it from them.

The fact that the spacecraft's name is "SpaceShipOne" points to the fact that, during the latter days, believers throughout the Church will understand that they have been called to be One with Almighty God. The human restrictions of religious hierarchies will be destroyed, and we will all have direct access to the Lord's Glorious Face:
